I am pleased to help you get your self-hosted Wordpress portfolio website up and running.
The first step of any project is to spend time with you going over your vision, expectations and budget.
- Do you already have a site that will need to be ported over? Or are you just getting started with your first site? Do you already have a web host or will you need help getting one lined up?
- Do you want to spring for a custom designed look? Do you want to design the site yourself? Or do you want to consider one of the numerous excellent pre-designed themes that are available? (some free some not)
- What kind of artwork will you be displaying? What will be the purpose of the site? To sell products? To gain new clients?
The answers to all these questions (and more) will help me to guide and support you in the best way possible.
The typical steps to getting your Wordpress portfolio ready for business are:
- Install the Wordpress software on the server.
- Select, install and configure a theme to meet whatever design plan we agree on.
- Develop a scheme for categorizing, tagging, and navigating your content based on your objectives.
- Select, install and configure the plugins needed to drive desired functionality.
- Create basic static pages (Home, About, Contact, etc.)
- Provide training to get you started adding content.
- Provide some on-going support for those questions that will come up.
How much will all of this cost? It depends on what you want. Installing Wordpress itself is not hard or or time consuming for me. What ends up taking time is when customization is involved. Give me a call and let’s talk about it!
